POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager Unified Communication will manage projects at all levels within the organization. This position manages the detailed planning, organizing, and implementation of large organizational and technical projects involving multiple departments and locations across Allstream. The Project Manager's decisions and actions play a strategic role toward the realization of corporate financial, operational, and marketing objectives, and corporate strategies. The projects being managed will impact financial goals of the company and capital plans. The Project Manager's responsibility is to manage projects to completion on time, within budget, and scope to maximize the project's potential of meeting or exceeding quality standards that deliver consistently superior services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes the project team, defines project objective, defines project scope through detailed planning, and team responsibilities.

  • Identifies project dependencies, assesses potential project risks, develops risk management plan, and develops the project schedule.

  • Establishes and maintains clear communication with the project team, including vendors, contractors and customers.

  • Provide a clear plan for implementation that optimizes resource utilization, time required for completion and assures internal clients operations needs are being met.

  • Coordinate team members' efforts.

  • Ensures projects remain on schedule and within budget, and team members are focused on the most critical aspects of project completion.

  • Report on the progress of projects in terms scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Manage and complete multiple projects at the same time with different commencement and completion dates and requiring multiple departments and stakeholders through the initiation, planning, implementation, controlling, and closure phases of each project.

  • Conduct and lead project management meetings, including the assignment of tasks, obtaining status, tracking action items, and escalating issues related to the identified risk of a project.

  • Conduct and/or coordinate on-site end-user training which may require travel.

  • Conduct and/or coordinate remote end-user training via webinar.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

  • The position reports to the Manager, Project Management and will have no direct reporting responsibilities for supervision. The position will require extensive collaborative communications skills and will require contact at all levels throughout the company. The major responsibilities of this position will include keeping projects on time, and delivering the projects goals as stated. Also managing projects to the expectations of senior management and reporting status of projects in a useful and informative way.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or comparable experience)

  • 2 + years of direct experience in a disciplined project management environment.

  • Must have the ability to function in a matrix environment where resources are not owned but secured from outside teams.

  • Demonstrated Understanding and Experience with Project Management Principles.

  • Develop Project Plans.

  • Develop Risk Plans.

  • Ability to manage multi-functional teams and disciplines.

  • Strong communications in written, verbal, inter-personal, facilitation forms.

  • Computer literacy, in word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems.

  • Requires constant keyboarding, sitting, hearing and talking, occasional standing and walking, and infrequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, kneeling, walking on uneven surfaces, squeezing and crouching. Requires infrequent lifting and carrying of from 1-20 pounds. Close detail work requiring visual acuity. Must be able to perform primarily sedentary work.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge in telephony, transport, service, or related technical industry.

  • Knowledge of telephony equipment (PBX, switches, etc.)

Req ID: 187366 JOB SUMMARY Works with executive and directing sponsors and leaders of the cross functional teams to create project vision, develop implementation strategy and implement change adaption plan. Plans and manages project risk and issues to avoid or mitigate risk to project schedules, budget, deliverables, and quality. Provides leadership and decision in circumstances where competing interests and priorities involve the highest levels of management. Leads multiple moderate to large enterprise projects. May lead a complex enterprise program with direct oversight from MGR Program Delivery. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Collaborates and partners with both program and project sponsors, functional and network leaders to develop project definition to include project scope, financial, timeline, risks, dependency, resource needs, and alignment to strategic imperatives. Ensures appropriate project governance is in place and adhered to the structure. * Develops and maintains project schedules. Manages project and program budgets and track costs. Monitors and analyzes performance and productivity of the project and implements necessary corrective plans. * Ensures project collisions are mitigated by directing and coordinating supporting activities with impacting external project managers. Provides hands-on leadership and process subject matter expertise to projects/program teams and senior level management. * Maintains a project level schedule and critical path that allows drill across to external dependency projects. Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless implementation of project. * Prepares and facilitates vendor selection processes, including writing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs). * Leads quality assurance processes to ensure solutions are properly tested consistent with test cases and acceptance criteria. * Manages project risks and issues, determining a course of action, considering constraints and objectives enabling continued project progress. * Provides project status reports and ensures project data in the Project Management Information System (PMIS) is accurate. Serves as point-person for internal and external project communications; ensures that project milestones, completion dates, costs, contingencies, and risks are communicated to team members and stakeholders. * Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: * Minimum of 7 years' of experience leading large, complex enterprise projects, building business plans and pro forma for complex enterprise projects. * Experience managing enterprise programs. * Experience with Agile, Lean or Six Sigma and other development processes and methodologies. * Experience leading PM staff required. * Healthcare and IST industry experience is preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: * PMI Certification in Project Management (PMP) is required within 6 months of date of hire. * Lean Black Green Certification is preferred. * Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is preferred. OTHER SKILLS: * Adept in use of experience with project management applications (e.g., MS Project, MS Project Server, Clarity). * Ability to lead implementation of project management best practices and frameworks such as PMI or CMMI. * Experience with Agile, Lean, and other development processes and methodologies. * Ability to assemble, advise, evaluate, restructure and coach project/program teams in complex environment. * Change Management and Leadership experience. * Demonstrated ability to utilize effective communication strategies; able to implement, drive business successful business outcomes, and work effectively with all levels of the organization. * Demonstrable leadership and leadership development experience in large, complex healthcare organizations. * Ability to work with MGR Program Delivery to provide updates, receiving guidance and communicating project needs.
