The Financial Aid Office strives to make a significant and positive difference in the success of student's education through quality customer service that meets their educational needs. This office is responsible for administering $40+ million annually in federal, state, institutional and private sources of grants, loans, scholarship and work-study for the UAF main campus and six branch campuses.
A Financial Aid Advisor is a critical position within the Office of Financial Aid. This position provides student service through advising and counseling students, on various financial aid processes as well as outreach activities. The advisor works with students on a daily basis to ensure a positive student experience while the university remains within the established federal guidelines.
The Financial Aid Office receives thousands of applications and awards millions of grants, loans and scholarships every year. Financial Aid Advisors work with students and their families to assist with applications and provide guidance on how to afford to attend the university, while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
This position will be a main point of contact for students needing assistance or wanting to learn more about their Financial Aid at UAF. We are looking to add a staff member that will help create a friendly student facing atmosphere.
Applicants will need strong customer service skills to walk students through complicated, multi-step processes. We are looking to hire someone who is organized, dependable, and eager to learn. The ability to understand regulations and make decisions to support students while maintaining compliance is a necessary skill.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
