The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a radiologist to join the abdominal imaging section. UAB is a state-of-the-art quaternary care medical center located in the vibrant city of Birmingham, Alabama.

The Department of Radiology has an active clinical service consisting of 104 faculty members working together to provide excellence in patient care. The goal of the Radiology Department is to provide outstanding clinical care through expertise in medical imaging and interpretation, through innovation and advances in imaging research, and through excellence in teaching and mentoring. The abdominal imaging section consists of 13 dedicated abdominal imagers who interpret CTs, MRIs, ultrasounds, and perform abdominal interventional procedures and fluoroscopic exams.

In-person, remote, and hybrid employment opportunities are all possible in this role. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills to interpret CT, MRI, US and perform abdominal interventional procedures.

The abdominal imaging section has a strong tradition of mentoring to help each faculty member identify career goals and develop academically. Opportunities exist for both educational and research pursuits.

Qualified applicants should be ABR-certified or eligible, have completed fellowship training in abdominal imaging or have demonstrated proficiency in abdominal imaging, and must be eligible to practice medicine in Alabama.
