Description

Location: Hillsboro Clackamas, and Tigard.

Note: This is a float position covering three locations: Hillsboro, Clackamas, and Tigard. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel to any of these locations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Perform urine toxicology specimen retrieval following program procedures including strict adherence to protocols for testing same or differing genders.

  • Provide high level of professional service including demonstration of respect for patients' privacy and creation of an atmosphere of dignity and patient safety. Interact with patients and staff in a professional and respectful manner

  • Organize workflow to ensure efficient and accurate testing. Assure chain of custody compliance prior to submission for testing.

  • Ensure compliance with quality control and quality improvement protocols to affect highest quality patient care.

  • Order and maintain stock of UA testing materials following purchase policies.

  • Complete data entry requirements as may be required by program.

  • Schedule patient UAs from using data gleaned from EMR and disseminate information to supervisor.

  • Assure patient confidentiality in accordance with CFR 42 and HIPAA.

  • Collaborate with supervisor and team members to address quality of service issues and to implement internal quality improvement projects or monitoring.

  • Maintain and update technical knowledge skills by actively participating in supervision and attending in-service instructions.

  • Achieve outcomes using methods that align with CODA's mission and values:

  • Use data and science to identify barriers, overcome obstacles, and inform decisions.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Must have a drivers license

  • A minimum of one year work experience in a clinical, medical, residential, office, or similar work environment as a member of a work team.

  • Ability to be attentive to and identify high risk situations, communicating with the appropriate channels in a timely manner.

  • Ability to intervene in such a way that demonstrates sensitivity and respect while keeping a clear line of communication between supervisor and treatment team.

  • Ability to demonstrate a non-judgmental and respectful attitude with patients at all times.

  • Recognize and respect cultural and personal differences in interactions with patients.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills adequate for communicating specimen collection, handling specimens, maintaining patient records, and communicating with team members.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of accepted principles of patient record management.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to adhere to established principles of patient safety.

  • Ability to maintain professional communications and boundaries while managing complex situations and interacting with individuals diagnosed with substance use or co-occurring conditions.

  • Ability to utilize both oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with patients, co-workers, community resources, supervisors, and various other individuals encountered in the course of performing work while maintaining patient confidentiality and establishing professional rapport.

Ability to operate a computer, utilize basic MS Office programs, and effectively navigate and maintain patient records in an electronic medical records system
