PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The role of the Tutorial Facilitator is to be responsible for the supervision and implementation of the district's High School Tutorial Assistance Program. The Facilitator will be responsible to the principal and Dean of Instruction to ensure that tutorial programs are designed to meet the needs

of students in grades 9 to 12.

QUALIFICATIONS:

TEA certification requirements for secondary teacher in one of the following: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies or Principal/Mid-Management certification

Be able to work with administrators, students, and teachers

At least 3 years of successful teaching experience required

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Report to work 5 days early at the beginning of the year and work 5 days additional at the end of the school year.

  • Work with teachers, principals and program coordinator to plan and schedule tutorial assignments.

  • Supervise tutorial sessions after school and Saturdays as part of ESSER Grant extra duty tutorials.

  • Assign college tutors paid for with Federal Programs Department funds.

  • Schedule in-service and training activities for teachers and college tutors.

  • Document and report the names of students served by the tutorial program.

  • Prepare timesheets for teachers and tutors and submits payroll to the Dean of Instruction for approval.

  • Assist teachers and tutors in identifying specific student needs.

  • Screen and select tutors using stated criteria and work with Dean o f Instruction on assigning college tutors to work with at-risk students.

  • Document and maintain all necessary data and submit on a monthly basis to the Dean of Instruction.

  • Evaluate the performance of tutors and makes necessary changes based on results.

  • Work with the Testing Facilitator and Dean of Instruction to coordinate and implement the STAAR, end- of-course, and benchmark testing.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes Saturdays and after school hours.

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
