Provide individual and small group tutoring to students. Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to identify learning challenges and improving study skills.

Other assistance may include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, preparing for tests, formulating ideas for papers, and working on solutions to help improve academic skills and abilities.

Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching. Tutors are not expected to fulfill the role of a TA. Tutors are expected to review class material made available by course instructors, discuss the text, prepare for tests, formulate ideas for papers, and work on solutions to help improve student's academic skills and abilities..

Responsibilities

● 5-10 hours of group tutoring per week (including preparation time)

● Prepare for each tutoring session by reviewing class materials and Canvas page

● Commit to working the full semester

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required.

The incumbent will be required to pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Background check
