Clackamas Community College (CCC) Learning Center is establishing a Tutor applicant pool for the course: Introduction to Welding in Spanish student tutors needs for the term. This position may work up to 19.5 hours/week and is a grant funded position.

Essential Job Functions:
Tutors provide one-to-one and small group tutoring to students in their subject area. In addition to tutoring, tutors are expected to maintain orderliness and decorum in their tutoring areas.
Auxiliary Job Functions:
May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in area of responsibility. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Students need to be enrolled at CCC in at least 6 credits (enrollment requirement waived in summer term).
Successful demonstration of competency in Welding for which they will be tutoring.
Spanish bilingual
Completion of appropriate classes (as determined by CCC department chair of that subject area) with preferably an A.
Recommended for this position by a faculty member in the appropriate subject area

Physical Demands of the Position:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility.
Working Conditions:
Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
Supervision Received:
Works under the general direction of Learning Center Coordinators and/or Department Chair.
