Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.

What you'll do

The Business Intelligence Center supports AlixPartners' global business development efforts. The team delivers intelligent research, identifies new potential business opportunities, supports pitches, analyses market trends and tracks competitor activity.

The TRS team, together with the BIC have created an origination function, focused on management of the TRS pipeline, identifying and building out opportunities in the distressed market. The role of the Origination Specialist is to work hand in hand with TRS leadership to lead the day-to-day management of the newly formed "Origination Hub".

Key Responsibilities

  • Process: Day-to-day management of TRS Pipeline process (Referrals and Origination) and Pipeline Team

  • Inbound Referrals: assisting pitch teams as required, outreach to wider firm if required

  • Target Opportunities: TRS origination screening, development of Target List, with a specific focus on developing client-facing collateral, including collating insights from sector and technical experts and coordinating longer form pitch and proposal materials for clients

  • GTM: Development of coordinated GTM activity, monitoring completion of allocated tasks to client-facing team, gathering marketing feedback and determining follow-on actions

  • Wider Firm Coordination: Interlock between EMEA TRS teams and wider ISLs/PIIMA/Digital as pertaining to Pipeline activity

What you'll need

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience in opportunity analysis in distressed markets across EMEA, with a sound understanding of the restructuring market.

  • Master's degree with a preference for business or financial based subjects

Skills

  • Ability to quickly assess potential opportunities for fit/relevance to the firms objectives before allocating capacity and focus.

  • Screening and prioritisation of potential opportunities presented to them and to focus capacity on the more relevant opportunities.

  • Reviewing initial financial analysis and other information from external sources, to form a view on the restructuring options and potential outcomes

  • Development of high quality materials to facilitate internal discussions on next steps and best approach for the firm to take on a situation.

  • This would include developing a "Point of View" for AlixPartners, covering aspects such as: potential capital market solutions, M&A options, restructuring tools, consensual vs non-consensual outcomes, analysis of legal and other financial documents (e.g. bond prospectuses), consideration of credit metrics and financial covenants etc.

  • Coordinating and managing other junior team members where additional support is required from TRS team members in developing materials

  • Managing senior stakeholders internally, including engaging with sector experts to source relevant insights and materials

  • Presentation of our point of view to senior internal stakeholders, as well as potentially clients, where appropriate and relevant

  • Inputting into longer pitch decks for live opportunities and pursuits being run by TRS PMDs and Ps

  • Driving cadence of engagement around priority opportunities with senior TRS-wide professionals, including pan-European teams

  • Comprehensive modelling and financial forecasting capabilities

  • Strong grasp of MS-Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Familiarity with popular market data tools (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Factiva)

  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
