General Overview of the Position Benefits Supplemental Questions

The Recreation Department is primarily seeking help on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings for this role, though scheduling is flexible.

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Gymnastics/Tykes Tunes Tumbling Tots Coordinator serves as the supervisory staff member during gymnastic program. Directly responsible for the safety of participants in the program and helps participants learn and improve their gymnastics skills, strength and endurance.

Examples of Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for opening and closing Hickory Grove Center during entire assigned schedule.

  • Responsible for communicating with staff to make sure that all shifts are staffed.

  • Responsible for instructing classes on Saturday and as needed.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating gymnastics curriculum and activities.

  • Observes, enforces and explains all facility rules and regulations.

  • Answer parents questions/concerns during the program.

  • Responsible for completing weekly paperwork to be turned into management.

  • Report problems or needs to management.

  • Provide leadership for staff.

  • Report to work at the scheduled hour and work the entire assigned schedule.

  • Communicate equipment and/or supply needs with management.

  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Possesses superior knowledge of the sport of gymnastics.

  • Previous gymnastics experience and prior training knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of proper teaching and spotting techniques.

  • Ability to assign duties and supervise personnel.

  • Ability of communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully with staff, city officials and the public.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Ability to present a positive image of the department and the City.

Position Specific Information: The dates of the program are:

Wednesdays- October 30-December 11 (No class Nov. 27)

Saturdays- September 21-November 23

Position Specific Information: The dates of the program are: Mondays: January 13-February 24, 5PM-7:30PM Saturdays: February 22-May 9, 8:15AM-10:45AM Wednesdays: March 18-April 22, 5PM-7:30PM ?
