Tumble Tots Instructor

Function

The City of Ankeny Parks and Recreation Department is looking for qualified applicants to help instruct and lead an introduction to tumbling class for kids, ages 3-6 years old.

Pay range is $12.25 - $14.75 per hour

Applicants must be available for class on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings from 5-8:00 pm.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants will be responsible for:

• Teaching and instructing youths the fundamentals of each activity.

• Executing each class appropriately to create a learning environment for all youths.

• Enforcing all procedures and rules at each facility or location.

• Teaching wellness, safety and all-around good character qualities.

Entry Requirements and Skills

• Must be at least 16 years old.

• Experience in gymnastics, tumbling, dance, etc. is required.

• Previous work experience with youth is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be sighted.

• Must be able to hear a normal conversation.

• Must be able to speak at a normal rate of conversation.

• Indoor and outdoor settings.

This position is not eligible for health benefits but may be eligible for IPERS. IPERS eligibility and participation will begin once an employee earns $1,000 or more in two consecutive quarters and will continue for the duration of employment.
