Tulane University School Of Medicine: Post-Doctoral Fellow

The Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine seeks applicants for a postdoctoral position to be a part of a great lab focusing on brain vasculature and mitochondria. Our research focuses on aging and Alzheimer's disease, so we require applicants with proven research experience in cerebrovascular sciences. The applicant will work independently and as part of a team with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students at different levels.

We are looking for an applicant with proven expertise in rodent surgical techniques, including surgeries, handling, and monitoring of rodents, as well as two-photon imaging. The applicant should be familiar with various approaches, including fluorescent microscopy, working with isolated vessels, immunofluorescence, western blot, and PCR.

These should be demonstrated through the applicant's peer-reviewed publications. The Post-Doctoral Fellow should be able to supervise and train students in lab techniques and experiments, assist with teaching Medical Pharmacology Problem Based Learning, and help with lab maintenance and ordering of supplies. Further, the applicant should be able to collect and analyze data, compose manuscripts for publication, and prepare presentations.

The requirements for this position include having either a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, a strong background in cardiovascular biology; research experience in vascular and mitochondrial biology; and experience in rodent surgeries.
