The TUHP Technical Training Deputy Program Manager specifically supports the Turkish Utility Helicopter Program, which delivers technical training to our Turkish customer, TAI.

This position coordinates processes, technical content and instructors for Technical Training as defined courses in our contract. This work will also be supported by internal groups in Sikorsky:

Engineering, Operations and Quality. There is overlap between this scope and other program areas - for example, Technical Data Package (TDP), Manufacturing Transitions, and Product Support.

Deputy PM will have significant responsibility for financial targets, customer satisfaction, scheduled delivery dates and interfacing with the external customer.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Developing integrated execution schedules and plans with detailed project schedules for Technical Training, including defined Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support courses. Examples of Engineering courses are Specialty, Flight & Ground Test, Transmission Test Stand, Whirl Stand.

Examples of ILS training are Helicopter Familiarization, ILS Author Modules 4-7, Airframe & Powerplant, Avionics & Electrical/AFCS. Courses range from 3 days to 2 months in duration, and can be taught in CT, FL or Turkey. The Deputy PM will often act as facilitator during course instruction and will need to travel to locations where the course is taught.

The Deputy will coordinate and plan additional courses or desired topics by the customer in support of Technical Assistance or other areas of the program. This will include phases from defining objectives, coordinating development of content with SMEs, and delivery of content to customer.

Manage contractual efforts using earned value processes to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget.

Develop working relationships with customer counterparts, internal Sikorsky Aircraft leadership team, and integrated program team members to ensure program success.

Serve as the secondary point of contact for TUHP technical training requirements, program organization and reporting structure, work statements, schedules and risk management, finance and planning and control functions.

Lead structured improvement activities using lean and Six Sigma tools and events to increase efficiency and reduce cost.

Track and manage to full compliance for all International Trade Compliance related activities..

Basic Qualifications

BA/BS degree w/4-6+ years experience

MA/MS degree w/3-5 years experience

Desired skills

Experience in international program or project management in a matrix environment. Aerospace background preferred.

Lean or Six Sigma experience. Excellent customer, organization, communication and presentation skills required. Experience with training implementations a plus.

Up to 30% Travel Required with this position within US, Poland and Turkey. Candidate must be able to work virtually across multiple time zones.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Description:The Turkish Utility Helicopter Program (TUHP) is a licensed co-production program with Turkish Industry to manufacture 109 T-70 helicopters (Turkish variants of Sikorsky's S-70i™ International BLACK HAWK helicopter) for operation by the Turkish Government, and to assemble an additional 109 S-70i™ helicopters for Sikorsky to sell to international markets. The total program value is $3.5 billion, inclusive of the work to be performed by Sikorsky, prime contractor TurkishAerospace, and other TUHP suppliers. The TUHP aircraft will contain a Turkish developed next-generation avionics cockpit. The position will serve as the mechanical lead supporting all Aerostructures manufacturing activities, specifically the cockpit, in support of Sikorsky's Turkish Utility Helicopter Program (TUHP). This position will be responsible for providing technical guidance in the assembly and installations on the cockpit production line at our customer's location, to enable a successful technology transfer. This effort is critical to the success of the TUHP for start-up of the T-70 aircraft and as part of the S-70i International Black Hawk platform buyback requirement. The position will be an expat role based in Ankara, Turkey. Specific job scope / responsibilities include: 1.) Familiarity with cockpit assembly build a. LH/RH Tub Assembly b. Cockpit Tub Join c. Canopy Join d. Canopy Fit-Out 2.) Experience in composite trim, installation and standard repair 3.) Experience in flight control installation; flight safety torque certified preferred (SS9300) 4.) Experienced in harness installation and SS7500 familiarity 5.) General sheet metal assembly, installation experience and standard repair (SS9208) 6.) Assembly Operation Sheet, DWG and Sikorsky Spec familiarity 7.) Responsible for customer training via On-The-Job Training and complete work assignments in accordance with joint technical guidance. May perform periodic inspections and general overview and repairs or modifications requiring replacement and assembly of parts. Provides technical assistance as required.
