Job Description

Position Objective (what is the main function of the job and reporting line):

Spring by Citi is a payments unit launching in Citi's Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), a business that processes over $4 trillion daily, across the globe. Based on the foundation of the industry's largest proprietary network with banking licenses in over 90 countries and globally integrated technology platforms, TTS continues to lead the way in offering the industry's most comprehensive range of digitally enabled treasury, trade and liquidity management solutions.

Spring by Citi will enable digital commerce for clients by providing streamlined access to locally relevant payment methods. Our goal is simple: help customer-centric institutions build seamless experiences that increase sales conversion while mitigating risk. To that end, Spring by Citi brings together varying objectives of corporate treasury, payments and the business, delivering value to each part of their organization. The solution will be integrated with wider cash management needs, giving clients single window access to a globally consistent proposition.

As the Global Lead for Citi's Payment Gateway Strategy for Spring by Citi, you'll drive product strategy, cultivate partner relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring solutions to life. You'll be responsible for creating frictionless payment experiences for consumers, so merchants can optimize their business operations and growth.

Key Responsibilities (describe the main activities the job-holder will perform):

In this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading Citi's product strategy for Citi's payment gateway, designing product features and launching solution enhancements

  • Empathizing with merchant needs and understanding of their solutions consumer payments and ecommerce

  • Managing and optimizing commercial relationships with partners

  • Understanding interoperability of systems interfacing with payment gateways

  • Working with colleagues who are leading Citi's card acquiring and local payment methods strategy to ensure all consumer payment options are delivered seamlessly through Citi's gateway

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Experience (what knowledge/experience of the role or the industry does the individual need, e.g. relevant work experience, industry and/or product knowledge):

  • At least 10 years work experience in payments industry, with understanding of payment gateway technology, the global payments landscape and the surrounding ecosystems

  • Experience as a merchant with consumer payments solutions a core responsibility

  • User experiences from both a merchant and consumer perspective

  • Experience working with or within banks

  • Understanding of payments risk and fraud dynamics and compliance risk management

Skills (what specific technical skills does the individual need and at what level, e.g. specific IT/spreadsheet/analytical/modeling skills)

  • Precise articulation of merchant needs with a talent for communicating complex ideas and concepts in a concise manner

  • Understanding of emerging payments trends and empathy for consumer experience

  • Extreme attention to detail and interest in operating in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment

The business provides Travel, Purchase and Meeting & Events card solutions to Institutional Clients including Public Sector. Citi is the most global provider of Commercial Cards with the ability to issue in 60+ countries and has been recognized with most innovation in Transaction Services with its Virtual and Procure-to-Pay solutions. The Global In-Business Risk Officer reports to the Global Commercial Cards Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for ensuring appropriate First Line of Defense oversight and governance for the Global Commercial Card organization. The role will require proactive identification and remediation of risk. Key areas of Responsibility include: Regulatory & Compliance Focus. * Responsible for ensuring that all Regulatory exams and business monitoring activities are tightly coordinated, ensuring that messaging is clear, concise and uniformly understood across all regions. * Project manage all follow-up actions to ensure timely response and closure. * Maintain documentation to support the activity control monitoring processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations (i.e. Reg W, O etc.) on an on-going basis. * Ensure that all regulatory control monitoring activities form a part of the Bank's broader MCA risk framework. * Coordinate with regulatory bodies and regional product teams to clearly document and timely report on significant and emerging risks relevant to the business. * Risk & Control Focus * Provide 2nd Line of Defense SMEs with business unit perspective regarding risk identification and risk assessments, to ensure that highest inherent risks are identified in applicable policies. * Coordinate control testing activities in accordance with Risk Management framework (Manager Control Assessment) to ensure that results are reported timely and completely. * Champion all Bank wide risk mitigation initiatives such as New Product Approval Process, Records Management, Third Party Risk Management, Information Security, COB, etc. Drive consistency throughout the regions to consistently manage risk for the Bank's clients. * Remain current on top emerging risks (i.e. Information Security) and coordinate with the 2nd Line of Defense to ensure that risk mitigation actions are flexible and current. * Specifically, coordinate the credit risk appetite for the Commercial Card Product with all stakeholders, carefully balancing risk and growth objectives. * Manage internal audit events and relevant follow ups * Participate in ad-hoc working groups to address and resolve new areas of risk within Commercial Cards, as required Qualifications: * 15+ years of experience * Strong commercial awareness * Level of expertise and demonstrated experience in Governance Regulatory Compliance / Risk & Controls. * Project Management acumen to manage tasks and drive closure of key initiatives. * Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment. * Strong stake-holder management skills across geographies and with Second and Third Line partners. * Not hesitant to be hands on, take a deep dive into an issue and resolve * Self-directed and proactive. * Commercial Card Knowledge a plus Education * Under graduate degree or equivalent * ------------------------------------------------ Grade :All Job Level - All Job FunctionsAll Job Level - All Job Functions - US * ----------------------------------------------------- Time Type : * ----------------------------------------------------- Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
