Production Manager
Theatre Sterile Services Unit
6 Month Fixed Term Contract
An exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join our join our friendly, dynamic team on a 6 month fixed term contract at Glendon Wood Hospital, located in Kettering
The post holder will support the Unit Manager with the attainment of the ISO 13485 standard which will demonstrate that the service from Glendon Wood TSSU is safe and compliant with all current relevant regulations and guidance.
There will be a requirement to work nights or a twilight shift for a few weeks of the tenure so that a consistent level of training can be applied to all shifts.
Under the direction of the Unit Manager the post holder will work alongside, and in conjunction with, the Quality Manager, acting on the results of internal audits and investigations into non-conformances and taking suitable corrective action with individual members or groups of staff.
Duties Include
To take operational responsibility for Customer requests and queries throughout the day, by dealing with them personally, or by delegating them to suitably trained staff.
To lead the Team in the TSSU on a daily basis and support the supervisors to ensure that staff are being deployed in the most effective locations, based on the existing and imminent workload.
Provide a high-quality service to all customers / service users.
Liaison with Customers to ensure their requirements are thoroughly understood and delivered in accordance with any agreed timescales, and in accordance with works instructions and via use of the correct paperwork and protocols.
To supervise and train staff as necessary, particularly in association with the Quality Management System - new procedures, audit findings and results, and maintenance of training records.
To ensure productivity in the Unit is running at the agreed rate, taking steps to rectify shortfalls as required.
To apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed sterile services knowledge when reviewing and interpreting technical data and production reports to ensure that a safe service is provided.
Plan personal workload carefully and carry out duties according to agreed managerial direction, but taking the initiative to continue smooth operation when there is a need to do so.
What You'll Have
Previous experience of working within production management or a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of the full Decontamination cycle.
Previous experience of undertaking audits.
Ability to manage and lead a team.
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
Good computer skills (MS Office package)
Flexibility and adaptability
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisational ability
