An Electrician Apprentice assists in the installation of electrical equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • You will assist with:

  • Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components and devices associated with electrical equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

  • Installing and mounting electronic controls, device, panels, sensors, and components.

  • Performing interlock wiring as required.

  • Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices.

  • Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Reading contract drawings.

  • Trouble shooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays.

Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Reliable Transportation

  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test

  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record.

Physical Abilities:

  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.

  • Relocates a twelve foot stepladder without assistance.

  • Works on energized circuits or equipment.

  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.

  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see In color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.

  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

  • Must be committed to excellence and generate a high quality of work.

  • Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Must wear an M.C. Dean, Inc. hard hat and safety glasses at all times while on the job site.

  • Must wear OSHA approved boot length pants and a shirt that covers the shoulders by seven (7) inches. These are not provided by the Company.

DESIRED SKILLS:

Vocational school or education training is a plus.

A Traffic/Streetlight Technician I assist in the installation and troubling shooting of traffic and streetlight equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards * Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic and streetlight systems * Assist in servicing traffic and street light equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components such as LED modules, lamps, photocells, electronic traffic components, poles, cables, loop detector, and fixtures. * Receive and follow direction from crew leads (Tech II) on miscellaneous tasks that are needed throughout the shift * Receive and follow direction from others in management positions to include: logistics managers, warehouse managers, superintendents, project managers, and group managers. * Assist in the installation of traffic and streetlight cable * Housekeeping of work area and work vehicles * Re-stocking of work vehicles or storage areas * Perform pre and post vehicle and equipment inspections * 6+ years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School Degree or GED, 3+ years of experience with an Associate's Degree * Basic knowledge of the theory of electricity and electronics * Excellent safety and driving records and reliable transportation * This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to M. C. Dean policy * Ability to drive vehicles up to 26,000 pounds * Ability to use a computer to pull work orders from on line tool and print * Work Flexible Hours and varying shifts, including rotating on call schedule * Lifting at least 50 pounds at one time. * Relocating a twelve-foot stepladder without assistance as required * May use standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools * Working at various heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders * Walking, climbing, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis * Possessing adequate vision (may be corrected vision), and the ability to hear and communicate in English * IMSA Work Zone Safety and Level I Certification * Bucket Truck, ladder Use Certifications * Confined Space, Hand Operation for Cranes, Small Tools Training M.C.
