The Opportunity
WSDOT Technology Services Division (TSD) is currently seeking to fill an IT Customer Support
What to Expect
HQ IT provides services to over 2000 employees among 7 sites, including the agency's, programs in the Puget Sound area that are making multi-modal investments in partnership with local agencies on WSDOT's facilities. Specifically, IT is responsible for the management of and administration of services (IT Help Desk, training/education, procurement, and solving technology related problems) so that WSDOT staff can complete their assigned work activities.
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the TSD Headquarters Desktop Support Supervisor will:
Serve as the highest level of technical expertise for the escalation of all unresolved and most complex, workstation, client supporting systems, and mobile device technical issues.
Provide daily management of regional IT services and support technicians for information technology services and operations.
Lead the effective and efficient delivery of Desktop Services to ensure the ongoing service provided is proactive, professional, and business focused.
Implement lifecycle management by monitoring useful life and performance of assets to upgrade or replace according to agency standards.
Deliver technology support and resources to the region while staying within budget limitations.
Oversee a team that maintains and logs IT problems, status, and problem assignment using agency IT Service Management System (ITSM).
Plan and lead agency IT hardware and software deployment projects.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, at least one of the following are required:
(Advanced education may substitute for up to three years of full-time IT work experience)
In addition to one of the above, the following are also required:
Demonstrated experience with written and verbal communications including presentations.
Four (4) years of experience providing technical consulting and installation of IT hardware and software across a large (2000+ users) computing environment.
ITILv4 certification (e.g. Foundation, Strategist, etc.).
Expertise in managing technical IT and the IT components of ongoing operational projects to assure successful project outcomes while assuring sustainable IT solutions.
Effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to varied audiences and technical skill levels and comprehension.
Ability to respond to emergency outages, sometimes during inclement weather events or other catastrophic incidents.
The ability to transport various pieces of computer-related equipment that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
A valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in Washington State.
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
COMP TIA Certification (e.g. A+, NET+).
Microsoft or Cisco Certifications.
Four (4) years of experience providing project management for technical IT projects involving installation of IT networks, hardware, and software.

In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position. This position offers flexible/hybrid remote work options.
The salary listed includes the legislative approved 5% salary premium for supervisory positions within the TSD Division.
