Job title: Truss Estimator
Pay: Starting at $24 to $29 an hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday starting 7am to 3:30pm
Location: Woodinville, Washington
The Truss Estimator is responsible for evaluating construction project requirements, interpreting blueprints, and estimating the materials and costs associated with Floor and Roof truss systems. This role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, internal and external clients to provide project bids in a timely manner. They will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously while providing Legendary Service Through Teamwork.
This position reports directly to the Regional Truss Manager and works closely with the Sales team.
Qualifications
2 years of previous experience in a similar job
1 year of prior experience within the construction industry
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to speak, write, and read English required
Ability to read blueprints
Strong analytical, organization, and communication skills
Detail oriented
Previous experience with MiTek software preferred
Experience with quoting software
Understanding of engineering fundamentals
Strong math skills
Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
Must be able to type 40+ WPM
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must have reliable transportation
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate designs for jobs based on the plan
Read and interpret blueprints provided by customers, analyzing structural specifications
Calculate quantities of materials needed and prepare the quote
Quote specifications provided by the customer and sales team
Maintain detailed records and reports of related information on a job-to-job basis
Collaborate with the sales team and others as necessary
Visit job site supervisors to ensure any issues that arise are resolved properly
Stay up to date on market fluctuations and material costs to ensure pricing is accurate
Perform other related duties as assigned
The primary working conditions for this position are in an office environment with a computer.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to work in an office environment
Must be able to drive a company vehicle when necessary
Both local and overnight travel may be required
Ability to utilize all appropriate safety equipment
