Waste Management has an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance shop superivsor to supervise the technicians on the afternoon shift at the heavy duty truck maintenance shop located in Trenton, (Hamilton) NJ. This is a great role for a strong leader who has experience doing preventative maintenance on CNG powered vehicles.

This position is on the afternoon shift which typically starts at 2:00PM.

I. Job Summary

Supervises and provides direct leadership for technicians. Manages work flow and assigns tasks.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.

  • Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality.

  • Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests, and prepares work order documents.

  • Performs mechanical duties as needed.

  • Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed.

  • Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

  • Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.

  • Creates and submits reports as necessary.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:

  • Direct supervision of 8 full-time employees including: mechanics, technicians,and a welder

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Experience: Four (4) years of relevant work experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • CDL preferred but not requried

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Maintenance and repairs skills, and supervisory experience may be required.

  • Previous leadership experience preferred

  • Ability to trouble shoot and diagnose CNG powered engines

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel

This position is on the afternoon shift which starts at 3:00PM. I. Job Summary Works under direct supervision and follows established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. Performs minor repairs and limited preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned equipment. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. * Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. * Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. * Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. * Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment. * Washes vehicles and equipment. * Conducts safety checks on vehicles. * Assists senior mechanics in the completion of project work. * Assists with service calls for breakdowns. * Performs other maintenance related work as required. * Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.
