Purpose

Deploys and supports: Student, staff devices, classroom projection equipment Administers and maintains network connectivity and user access to Building systems - e.g., HVAC, Cameras, phones, projection equipment Building network - wiring, switches, wireless, servers, printers, copiers TRSU Systems - e.g., MDM, wireless management

Proven experience as Technology Support Specialist or similar role Experience in network management and help desk support Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills Great attention to detail Excellent organizational and coordination abilities BSc/BA in information technology or computer science is preferred Certification (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) is a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deploy, track and maintain all staff and student devices Provide technical support for internal building networks Deploy, track and maintain classroom installed projection systems and related hardware Act as link between end users and higher level support Install and configure software and hardware (printers, network cards etc.) Monitor system and network performance Perform troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration Provide advice on the most suitable IT choices Maintain licenses and upgrade schedules Collaborate with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality Manage assigned budget line items and ensure cost effectiveness Provide coverage during school hours and timely notice when out Perform other tasks and duties as directed by the Director of Technology, where appropriate for skills and expertise.

Skills and Knowledge Development Sustain high levels of knowledge, skills and practices in emerging technologies. Provide evidence of 20 hours of technical training per year minimum in assigned support areas.

Evaluation Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with procedures as established by the Superintendent of Schools.

Note:This job description will serve as the conceptual basis for the performance expectations. Specific items may be deleted and priorities set through conferencing with the Superintendent as part of the evaluation process.

Term of Employment: Salary, benefits, renewal and length of contract will be determined by the Board. 90 day probation period.
