TRIO Coordinator, Advisor, Tutor

Salary - $50,000

I. Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Trio Program Director, the employee will perform the

following functions: Perform program coordination and supportive participant related activities

to increase the level of success and retention of participants; ensure program efficiency;

perform other duties as assigned.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

Recruit new participants - attend campus/outreach events, create marketing materials

Conduct Intake Interviews (Needs Assessment & Achievement Plan)

Manage an advising caseload of 80 students

Assist participants in degree program planning and scheduling classes

Monitor and document student progress in database and service logs

Provide academic assistance/study skills/tutoring to participants

Track enrollment data for program performance evaluation

Coordinate, conduct and promote student development workshops

Assist with financial aid applications (FAFSA); present financial literacy information

Facilitate exploration and assist with the transfer process

Coordinate and plan campus/career visits and enrichment activities for participants

Provide college and community referrals to resources/assist with scholarship searches

Complete office processes to support program and staff

Maintain accurate program information in database for analysis and reporting

Attend meetings, engage in professional development activities as requested by Director

III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills

Bachelor's degree in education or related field required; Master's preferred

Experience with college advising and tutoring first-generation college students

Knowledge of FAFSA, financial aid processes and financial literacy

Ability to coordinate, plan and facilitate group activities/workshops/field trips

Proficiency with MS Office/Google and data base documentation

Demonstrated organization and communication skills
