Assists the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned. Leads and develops Team Members.

All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Further, Team Members must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions. Team Leaders are required to spend significant time on the floor, engaging with customers, and pitching in to help whenever and wherever needed. All positions must strive to support WFM core values and goals, promote national, regional, and store programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations.Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.

  • Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.

  • Assists Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor.

  • Assists team leader in annual sales and expense projections and budget preparation.

  • Assists team leader with ordering and inventory management.

  • Works with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues.

  • Functions as point person and departmental person in charge in absence of Team Leader.

  • Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution.

  • Fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.

  • Maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers; responds promptly to customer needs and questions.

  • Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.

  • Communicates and maintains Team Member safety and security standards.

  • Provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.

  • Consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals.

  • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.

  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.

  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.

  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.

  • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees="" fahrenheit="" (freezing),="" 32-40="" degrees="" fahrenheit="" (refrigerators),="">90 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.

  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

Currently ACR has locations in New York City NY, Chicago IL, Philadelphia PA, Berkeley CA, Boulder CO, our stand alone Cafe Roastery in Denver and now our newest location at Chelsea in NYC. We plan to run the best coffee roasteries and bars in the country and are looking for the right people to help us do it. So bring your ideas, spirit, and love for coffee to the table, and work with folks who share all of those things and want to do something more than just the status quo. Responsible for sharing Allegro's incredible coffee and other products with customers through day to day operation of the ACR Coffee Bar. Works with other team members to create a welcoming environment serving as a gathering place that consistently delivers the highest quality coffee, tea, juices and other beverages with unparalleled customer service. Includes daily brewing, espresso machine operation, juice bar drink preparation (if applicable), cash register operation, retail store upkeep, and sales of Allegro Coffee. Supervises all Coffee Bar Team Members and manages store safety and security in the absence of the Coffee Bar Team Leader. DUTIES: 1. Performs all duties of a Coffee Bar Team member, as communicated by the Coffee Bar Team Leader, including providing excellent customer service, drink preparation, cash register operation, and equipment cleaning & maintenance. 2. Assists Team Leader in monitoring daily sales and profits and manages daily operations that support continuous improvement. 3. Controls team member labor by coordinating shift positions and shift changes in the absence of the Team Leader. 4. Monitors and maintains sanitation and cleaning checklists of café and equipment. 5. Maintains inventory levels, orders and receives coffee, milk, and other bar supplies under the supervision of the Coffee Bar Team Leader. 6. Resolves customer complaints regarding service and product standards. 7. Consistently communicates and models Allegro/WFM vision and goals to both customers and Coffee Bar Team Members. 8. Motivates and advises team members to attain performance objectives outlined by the Coffee Bar Team Leader. 9. Communicates team member performance, sales goals, and day to day operations issues to Coffee Bar Team Leader. 10. Observes workers and customers to ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including: OSHA, Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and H.A.A.C.C.P Guidelines. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Previous experience in a supervisory position. 2. Have a passion and knowledge for coffee/tea and related products and equipment. 3. Exceptional customer service skills 4. Outgoing and engaging personality with the ability to create excitement around our products and to motivate a team. 5. Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently or in teams. 6. High standards of excellence and the ability to work to high quality and customer service standards. 7.
