In this role, you will represent our insured clients and the company in auto and property subrogation cases, as well as defend bodily injury and property damage lawsuits. Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate.

  • Contact third-party carriers to negotiate and resolve auto and property subrogation cases.

  • Review new file assignments, approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and develop legal strategy.

  • Maintain regular contact with clients, discussing their cases and answering questions at least every 90 days.

  • Coordinate with claims teams to discuss litigation plans, strategy conferences, and ensure recurring updates.

  • Review all documentary evidence thoroughly.

  • Prepare witnesses, including expert witnesses, and insured/clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

  • Conduct depositions and prepare summary documents.

  • Prepare and conduct court appearances, including matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, and settlement/dispositive proceedings.

  • Try and/or arbitrate cases, including preparing motions in limine and drafting post-trial motions.

  • Manage legal projects effectively, ensuring coordination and collaboration among legal teams.

A Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

  • Litigation experience in-house or in a law firm setting required.

  • Experience in subrogation, collections, insurance defense, and/or personal injury litigation preferred.

  • Proven trial and/or arbitration experience is preferred, with flexibility to work across various disciplines.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, and internet research.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team of attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants under the supervision of Lead Counsel.

  • Capable of managing a large caseload efficiently and effectively.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a cohesive team.

  • Working in a fully remote environment, but having willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $66,800 - 120,650 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
