Triage Recheck Assistant

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a full time Triage Recheck Assistant for the Emergency Department in Springfield MA

SCHEDULE:

• 36 hours, 12 hour shift

• Days, 7a-7:30pm

Rotating weekends and holidays

LOCATION:

• BMC Campus

• Springfield MA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages for all age groups and applies developmental theories and concepts when planning and implementing care for patients within this role.

Monitors basic physiological parameters and reports changes to the RN. Administers treatment and procedures in accordance with BMC policy/procedure.

Provides a safe environment for patients and staff by complying with hospital and departmental safety procedures. Fosters an environment that reflects teamwork by offering to help those who are in need and demonstrates respectful communication with all co-workers. Develops and maintains good human relation skills.

Take vital signs/assessments. Acts as patient/family advocate. Provides for patient safety.

Assists ambulatory patients in a safe manner. Has knowledge of care of patients with latex, other allergies. Apply simple dressings both sterile and non-sterile

QUALIFICATIONS:

1-3 years in a clinical setting

CPR required

Basic Cardiac Life Support

• American Heart Association, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic

• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
