The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator II - Water Production to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Water Production Division.

The Treatment Plant Operator II - Water Production earns a competitive salary of $22.69 - $24.56/hourly based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR II - WATER PRODUCTION

  • Performs monthly water sampling; checks the mechanical, chemical and electrical operations of the water plants.

  • Oversees and supervises the Department Op I's and delegate tasks each day as needed by assigning certain routine designations, construction samples, special samples, sample station repairs, or the Daily Disinfectant Residual sites when required.

  • Turns on and monitors equipment during the course of the day to maintain operational requirements.

  • Performs plant maintenance.

  • Produces the Annual Water Usage Report or AWUR to keep track of how much water was produced or purchased.

  • Reads operator reports and makes repairs to any equipment that may need to be repaired or replaced.

  • Submits Disinfectant Level Quarterly Operating Report every Quarter to TCEQ per state requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college chemistry, biology, or closely related field.

  • Requires four years of water operations or closely related experience.

  • Special Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid Texas Driver's License

  • TCEQ "C" Water License Required

  • TCEQ "B" Water License Preferred
