SUMMARY
This position maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots plant electrical problems. Work involves performing maintenance, upgrades, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical components and equipment that pertain to the City's water treatment processes, structures, and assets; repairing, maintaining, or replacing electrical equipment/components (breakers, starters, transformers); maintaining, connecting, and disconnecting electrical motors up to 480V; inspecting electric instrumentation and performing minor repairs. This position determines health life of critical electrical equipment and instruments and provides solutions to pending and/or post electrical component failures.
Salary:
$57,165.00 - $63,516.00 Commensurate with Experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is medium work and requires applying 30 pounds of force frequently and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, distinguishing among sounds, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity in data/color/observations/equipment/inspections, and walking. This position may require the following physical demands at any given time: Stand for long periods of time. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must also be able to bend or twist their body, climb ladders and scaffolds, kneel, stoop, distinguish sounds at normal speaking levels. Have ability to reach above head, use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands. Requires working on-call as scheduled.
