About the Role
Gilead Sciences is looking for a Treasury Manager to join our Capital Markets and Treasury Operations Teams in a 50/50 role. Reporting to the Senior Director, Treasury, in this important role the successful candidate will:
What you will do
Capital Markets responsibilities include:
Assist with the preparation of long-range financial plans and the execution of company financing agreements including deal execution and maintenance as well as covenant compliance
Maintain a detailed, multi-year cash flow forecast model which integrates financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow
Collaborate with the team to create rating agency presentations as well as prepare supporting financial analysis
Support periodic outreach and coordinate messaging to fixed income investors
Ensure that all monthly and quarterly requirements are met timely and accurately
Maintain proper internal controls whilst providing technical and analytical support to senior members of Treasury function
Collaborate on projects related to Treasury and proactively seeks to recommend and implement process improvements
Be responsible for portions of treasury operations' adherence with SOX compliance and adherence to board approved treasury policies
Treasury Operations responsibilities include:
Perform daily cash management activities such as review opening balances, reconcile prior day activity and resolve discrepancies, determine daily cash position, forecast daily cash, initiate and Treasury payments
Manage liquidity and invest excess cash funds in accordance with the Controller's Manual and transact with Gilead's cash pools
Co-lead the medium-term cash forecasting process
Consistently maintain proper internal controls and ensure compliance with the worldwide Controller's manual, board approved policies and to all applicable laws and regulations. Seek improvement opportunities for existing processes and procedures
Assist with bank fee analysis and interface with commercial banks as required
Perform timely and accurate ad hoc reporting and monthly and quarterly analyses as required
Manage Treasury projects and contribute to solutions that impact multiple Gilead businesses and/or countries
What you will need - Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
6+ years of relevant experience and a BA or BS in Finance or Accounting
An MBA can be substituted for two years of relevant experience; CFA a plus
Knowledge of life science, healthcare, biotech experience a plus
Working knowledge of capital markets and planning
Strong proficiency in finance and treasury accounting, financial modeling and due diligence skills
Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint)
Solid knowledge in banking and cash management
Experience with treasury workstation (SAP S/4HANA) and SWIFT
Knowledge of Bloomberg, SAC-P and Tableau are a plus
Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, and be comfortable and competent in working on treasury related projects involving departments outside of finance
Be highly energetic and motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within groups, requiring minimal supervision
The drive to excel in a fast paced, highly analytical environment where multi-tasking and short timelines are met with consistent ability to achieve financial accuracy
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, including strong communication skills to build relationships quickly and successfully navigate the business
The ability to collaborate and contribute to achieve team and company objectives
Strong adherence to company core values of integrity, inclusion, teamwork, excellence and accountability
Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
Gilead Core Values:
The salary range for this position is: $133,280.00 - $172,480.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
