Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in public accounting or industry.

  • Experience in GAAP accounting principles related to investments or investment company accounting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Experience in Investments (ASC320), Investment Company Accounting (ASC946), Consolidations (ASC810), Fair Value (ASC820), Foreign Currency Transactions and Translation (ASC 830), and Alternative Investments.

  • Experience in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, or Scripting).

  • Ability to learn quickly to execute tasks in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.

You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

As a Treasury Accountant, you will be responsible for accounting and reporting Treasury's investment activities. You will be part of a team of treasury accountants that works both collectively and independently to maintain and execute operational excellence in monthly and quarterly close related activities, maintain adequate internal control framework as we scale, identification and execution on improvement opportunities.

In this role, you will support technical assessment and diligence, monthly and quarterly accounting, and reporting on strategic investment initiatives for the growth and success of Alphabet and the Treasury function.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly close related activities including loan receivable, debt security investments (AFS), Fair Value, and alternative investment asset classes.

  • Participate in strategic investment initiatives, including technical accounting research and analysis, drafting adoption memo and documenting accounting conclusions, while solutioning operational accounting and reporting considerations to ensure treasury controllership objectives are met.

  • Support compliance of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, particularly for manual controls, systems controls, and Information Produced by Entity (IPE) for the Treasury Accounting team.

  • Lead in special projects and initiatives, planning and execution from time to time focusing on treasury related activities and other adhoc projects as assigned.
