What You'll Do:
As one of United Contractor Services' first field engineers your role will have varied responsibilities, including operating FieldPrinter robots out on project sites, preparing CAD & RVT files for layout use and working with our customers to meet their layout needs. You will also train new teammates on the ins and outs of the robots and prepare them to operate the FieldPrinter equipment on their own project sites. We are seeking an individual with construction experience in roles like Project Engineer to Field crew. Must be able to take control to provide stability in uncertain situations. Your problem-solving ability and hard work will be critical to meeting our project's tight schedules. Exceptional communication skills will be critical in this role for clear and crisp communication.
The role is categorized into the following four areas of focus:
Customer Relations
Ability to advocate UCS's layout service across multiple project sites.
Understand site conditions and critical think your way through a layout project
This includes mastery of the Dusty's FieldPrinter system
Field coordination
Navigate jobsite hierarchy, solve problems on site
CAD & Pre-construction coordination
Lead meetings with Fluor's design team to optimize CAD files for accuracy and robot printability.
Additional Duties:
Understand complex systems and their layout
Understand what control points are and why they're important to successful layout.
Use your problem-solving skills to successfully deploy the FieldPrinter in challenging field conditions
Work alongside the 3rd party vendor that provides the robotic FieldPrinter technology.
Collaborate with our project management team to diagnose layout conflicts, and propose solutions
Travel to job sites locations across the U.S.
Requirements:
Prior experience working in construction
Proficient computer skills (AutoCAD experience is a plus)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail
Strong problem solver/critical thinker
Solid math and measurement skills
Able to lift and carry 50-lb equipment on uneven ground
Must be able to provide own transportation with space for three large suitcases
Able to travel to continuous lower 48 states.
