Your Role as a Traveling Periodontic Assistant

You'll be an important member of the clinical team, working alongside our Periodontist and other GPs dedicated to serving patients dealing with periodontal disease. Some of the issues patients will be dealing with include severe gum inflammation, dental implants, and cosmetic procedures. You'll be supporting many sides of the practice, greeting and guiding patients, and helping out across the office as needed. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to travel to different offices and support other teams with their periodontal needs. You'll also be:

  • Preparing patients and treatment rooms for periodontic treatment procedures

  • Recording patients' medical and dental histories

  • Assisting the Periodontist as needed

  • Improving oral health, solving dental challenges and bettering smiles every day

In addition to this, you will prep test results for physicians, assist with prescription refills, conduct medication start appointments, and schedule patients for appointments electronically. You must be able to multi task effectively under pressure to maintain smooth patient flow </p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p> To be qualified for this position, applicants must have <strong>3-5 years of current experience</strong> in medical assisting. This position requires excellent oral and written skills, a professional demeanor and strong computer skills. <br><br> Knowledge &amp; Skills:<br></p><ul> <li> <strong>Language Skills</strong> –Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.</li> <li> <strong>Mathematical Skills</strong> <strong>-</strong> Basic knowledge of drug calculations. </li> <li> <strong>Customer and Personal Service –</strong> Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
