Involves operating X-ray equipment to create images of patients' internal organs, bones, and tissues. X-ray techs must ensure that patients are properly positioned for imaging and that the equipment is set up correctly to obtain clear images. X-ray techs must adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, themselves, and other medical staff.

This includes using lead aprons, shields, and other protective equipment, as well as following proper procedures for radiation exposure reduction. X-ray techs work closely with physicians and radiologists to capture images that meet diagnostic needs. They may need to communicate with healthcare providers to understand specific imaging requirements or to provide additional imaging support during procedures.
