Screen patient charts to ensure medication orders are aligned with the chart note as well as lab work, vitals, allergies, etc. 2. Process new medication orders. 3. Fill prescription orders when needed. 4.

Check filled prescription orders for accuracy. 5. Educate patients on medication therapy. 6. Provide patient education. 7.

Work in a collaborative fashion with the pharmacy team and providers to ensure timely and accurate pharmaceutical services. 8. Answer provider questions regarding drug therapy and question providers when appropriate to ensure the proper medication, in the proper dose and dosage form is dispensed to the patient. 9. Recognize life-threatening emergencies, initiate and maintain resuscitation measures and other emergency procedures as appropriate to the situation. 10.

Recognize adverse reactions to medications, treatments, and procedures and initiate interventions as appropriate to the situation. 11. Answer and screen telephone calls, take refill requests, and input outside prescriptions into the system. 12. Participate in the service unit Functional Improvement, Pain Reduction Committee. 13.

Participate in the service unit Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. 14. Perform controlled substance audits as/if directed 15. Help put away order as needed. 16. Call patients for pill counts and perform those pill counts when patient presents to the pharmacy window.
