• PCU Job Specialty: 2East Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: 1-2 years (will accept first-time travelers) License: LA License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred) Must-Have: EKG competency; traveler must pass an EKG exam before arrival. Job Description:

• The nurse will work night shifts and has scheduling options including 3/2, 5/2, or 7 on 7 off.

• The unit has 25 beds and accepts a variety of patient types including, but not limited to, respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, postoperative patients, and cardiac interventions.

• Patient ratios are 1:3-4.

• Skills required include titrating cardiac drips, vasopressor titration, insulin drips, arterial line management, central line management, tracheostomy care, and experience with feeding tubes and Bipap.

• The support structure on the unit includes a charge nurse who may take patient assignments, an in-house phlebotomy team, a VAT team, resource nurse availability, and 24/7 access to hospitalists.

• The facility uses the Meditech Expanse charting system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis for medication dispensing.

• Nurses may float to other units such as the Cardiac Stepdown or MedSurg with different patient ratios.

• Orientation consists of 2 days of hospital orientation and 2 shifts on the unit.

• Weekend rotation is every other, with mandatory work of 4 days one week and 3 days the next week.

• The unit has a diverse culture, frequently utilizing travelers, and is known to be traveler-friendly.

• Scheduled per rotation for holiday shifts. Scrub color is pewter. Note: Vaccination policy includes a requirement for COVID-19 vaccination with an exemption process available.
