Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), EKG/Dysrhythmia exam required Must-Have: - EPIC experience required
Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
Must be able to read and interpret strips
Must be willing to work every other weekend/holiday Job Description:
The target patient ratios are 1:7.
The unit consists of 20-21 beds and patients require less acute care, making it more of a "nursing home" setting.
No telemetry monitoring, blood products, or short-term Bipap.
Nurses will be fitted for an N95 prior to working on the unit, unless a PAPR is offered or needed.
The unit may participate in a team nursing model, where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of patients. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the unit's needs.
Floating to other units may be required, including supporting the nursing care team of the unit floated to.
The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census per the contract period.
Long-term patients are primarily those awaiting guardianship, placement, or pending insurance requirements.
Patients do not meet criteria for inpatient admission or observation and require a custodial level of care.
Navy Blue Scrubs are to be worn.
Requests for time off need to be included with the initial submission and will be at the manager's discretion.
Up to 24 hours of modules are billable and need to be completed during orientation, with up to 8 hours required annually. Module hours must be self-reported to the manager.
A flu vaccine is required, with medical/religious exemptions considered. COVID-19 vaccine is not required.
