Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc., the industry leader in providing quality medical care, mental health care and business services to correctional facilities, has an excellent opportunity for a Travel Nurse located in Oklahoma. This position is a travel-based position.

We are looking for an energetic and collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) who has a demonstrated track record of providing outstanding patient care, supervising and evaluating other nurses, scheduling work assignments and setting priorities, and identifying staff development and training needs.

Critical to the success of the Travel Nurse is the ability to demonstrate critical thinking, build strong relations with employees and clients, work independently and travel frequently. The applicant will be a goal-oriented, driven individual with superior communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. You'll work as part of a team, along with support staff and corrections staff, where communication and cooperation are key to success.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Active nursing license in the state(s) in which services are to be provided, in good standing

  • Active CPR and AED certifications

  • Knowledge of the RN and LPN scope of practice

  • Strong Microsoft Office, Internet, and email skills

  • This position requires a background check

VIEW JOBS 5/29/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-27T00:00 Responsibilities After evaluation of competency, the Nurse Tech is allowed to perform all duties of a nursing assistant as well as other technical skills which have been learned in a nursing education program and for which competency has been previously demonstrated under the supervision of a faculty member. Exceptions include but are not limited to the following: The Nurse Technician may not administer medication, perform assessments, act in a supervisory position, take verbal orders from the physician or other health care provider, or develop the plan of care. A Registered Nurse is directly responsible at all times for the Nurse Technician, who is functioning as an unlicensed person with a defined job description. The RN must be physically present in the institution, not, however, providing direct supervision for every activity. Upon graduation of the Nursing Program, must take the first licensure examination within 90 days after graduation, if graduate does not pass, must take and pass the 2nd examination within 5 months of graduation. Demonstrates competence in assembling and operating equipment for patient care under the supervision of an RN. Keeps appropriate people aware of pertinent changes or problems in patient condition. Participates in planned education for the patient per Patient/Family Education policy with consideration of developmental differences. Reports variances according to risk management processes of UHS. Maintains confidentiality of patient's records and employee information protecting the rights of the customers served. Obtains and documents vital signs as instructed per nurse. Assists with bathing, skin care, dressing, feeding, bed changes, ambulating and transporting of patients. Supports the organizational initiative of hourly rounding and documenting rounding with a purpose. Maintains and records intake and output with a high degree of accuracy. Supports the organizational initiative of timely response to call lights. Addresses needs and reports to the care giver as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge in maintaining and recording accurate continuous bladder irrigations. Applies and maintains such treatments as Abduction pillows, braces, ice packs, K-Pads, immobilizers, and SCD Demonstrates knowledge in maintaining proper body alignment as appropriate for the orthopedic and neurological patient. Demonstrates knowledge of activity precautions for specific orthopedic and neurologic patients. Assists patients with clock void per instructions of nurse. This will be evidenced by documentation and verbal report to nurse. Assist patients with swallowing difficulties by following guidelines set by speech therapists i.e. chin tuck, thick-it, etc. Responsible for proper collection, labeling and transport of specimens adhering to infection control and BSI guidelines. Maintains a clean and organized work area helping to project a good impression and maximizing the efficiency of the work unit. Performs other duties as required and assigned. Qualifications * Required current enrollment in and successful completion of the first semester of an accredited Nursing Program or current Oklahoma CNA licensure in Long Term Care and current enrollment in an accredited Nursing Program. * To remain at the status of a Nurse Tech, the employee must successfully pass and complete each semester * including clinical and theory classes they are enrolled in. * BLS required. * Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment. * Must demonstrate each task before performing independently. * Basic computer skills required.
