DEN is the largest and newest commercial airport in the United States and consists of 15 million square feet of built environment.
Denver International Airport (DEN) has an opening for a Travel Administrator on our Executive Administration team.
The position will be responsible for managing and refining the entire airport-wide travel program; including coordinating and monitoring travel requests from start through the reimbursement process while working with numerous stakeholders within DEN and implementing policies/procedures.
Given the core responsibility of administrating the program, key candidate success factors will include the ability to take a broad view of and have relevant experience in managing and establishing policies and procedures including but not limited to travel, expense reimbursements and training.
Responsibilities include managing the development and implementation of travel, reimbursement and workflow policy and procedures; developing and monitoring the travel budget; establishing reports to track the financial impact of travel and effectiveness of policies; communicating results with management and other agencies for process improvement guidance.
Manages the entire airport-wide travel program Trains section administrators on the travel policy and travel request procedures.
Reviews travel requests for completion, accuracy and adherence to the DEN travel policy.
Creates itineraries and books travel logistics including, but not limited to, flights, conferences, events, hotels and ground transportation.
Makes sound, well informed and objective decisions while perceiving the impact implications and/or consequences.
Identifies a need for and knows how and where to gather information; organizes and maintains travel records.
Audits and authorizes travel reimbursements.
Develops and monitors travel budget.
Oversees Travel Card and Department Card Programs Assists with planning and coordinating high-profile international business trips, and on occasion, travels with and acts as on-the-ground logistical expert.
Acts as liaison and crucial point of contact to various agencies, high level managers, administrators and other stakeholders.
Compiles and analyzes data and establishes key travel metrics for internal reporting purposes.
Maintains familiarity with and stays updated on general best practices around the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). Assists with the production of materials for any travel related requests under CORA.
Regularly performs significant and recurring administrative tasks with a high degree of initiative and independence and with superior attention to detail and maintains a follow-up system on outstanding tasks.
Researches, develops, guides and advises DEN management on travel policies and procedures.
Other duties and analysis as assigned in order to meet DEN's changing needs.
About You We are looking for a leader with superb business and political acumen, sound understanding of strategic business practices, who has experience working with staff at all levels, and a proven track record of excellent performance within a very complex enterprise.
We are also looking for an innovative thinker, with drive and ingenuity to help us achieve DEN's Strategic Plan objectives.
Three (3) years of travel industry or corporate travel planning experience.
Experience coordinating corporate travel needs.
Experience managing multidimensional and group travel requests.
Familiarity with the complexities of international travel.
Demonstrated track record of discretion around sensitive topics.
Experience monitoring travel budgets and discussing analysis findings with upper management.
Confident communication skills and the ability to discuss approach and collaborate with the team.
Experience directing the implementation of approved recommendations and developing travel policies and procedures to facilitate recommended changes.
Willingness to occasionally travel to assist with domestic and international business trips.

Three (3) years of experience acting as an administrator or a full performance level professional within a specialized, functional area.
One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
FBI Background Check:
FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment.
By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow / Emergency Duties:
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation.
If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
