WMCHealth's Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care is seeking fellowship trained general surgeons with a specialization in critical care and trauma surgery to join our busy Level I Trauma Center located in Valhalla, New York. We are a regional Level I Trauma and Burn Center with more than 40,000 emergency room visits per year.
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and/or surgical critical care. Requirements include demonstrated skills in emergency surgery, surgical critical care, trauma and/or burn patient care, and a record of teaching and research experience (health services, translational or basic science research). The Trauma Surgeon reports directly to the Trauma Program Director and will be responsible for providing trauma, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery coverage.
Candidate requirements include an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy, as well as the completion of a surgical residency and a surgical critical care fellowship.
As a teaching hospital of New York Medical College, you will have close interaction with the program's residents and fellows. With a collegial atmosphere, academic rounding and educational opportunities will be available at both the Westchester Medical Center and MidHudson Regional Hospital campuses.
