.Mount Sinai South Nassau is currently seeking a full-time Trauma Critical Care Surgeon!

Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) is an award-winning, acute care, not-for-profit teaching hospital located in Oceanside, New York. Our dedicated staff serves the entire South Shore of Long Island, from the Rockaways in Queens to the Massapequas and beyond. We offer quality, compassionate care on our main campus in Oceanside, plus nine other satellite facilities in the region. Mount Sinai South Nassau is one of the region's largest hospitals, with 455 beds, more than 900 physicians and 3,500 employees. The Trauma Critical Care Surgeon will be joining a team of five full time faculty acute care trauma surgeons and will also become a member of Mount Sinai's Critical Care Institute. Mount Sinai South Nassau is an American College of Surgeons verified level II trauma center with approximately 65,000 ED visits and about 2,000 trauma admissions annually. This collegial surgical department has its own free standing general surgery residency training program.

Designated a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for outstanding nursing care, MSSN also offers Novalis Tx and Gamma Knife radiosurgery technologies, and operates the only Trauma Center on the South Shore of Nassau County verified by the American College of Surgeons. The Trauma Program recently had a successful American College of Surgery site review without any deficiencies noted.

Mount Sinai South Nassau is the only hospital on Long Island in 2018 to achieve Healthgrades America's 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award and 5-star rating for Total Hip Replacement, and it was one of just two hospitals on Long Island to achieve Healthgrades 5-stars in Hip Fracture Treatment. Responsibilities

  • .Serve a diverse population and live in a region with excellent school districts and easy access to Manhattan.

  • EMR system: Allscripts/ EPIC.

  • Work with five other approachable full time Acute Care Trauma surgeons and multiple part-time faculty.

Qualifications

.Medical Degree from an Accredited University.

  • New York Medical License.

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery.

  • Fellowship trained in Trauma / Critical Care.

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care or equivalent.

  • ATLS required.

  • Committed to Mount Sinai South Nassau and the communities we serve.

  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills.

  • A system work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven health system.

Compensation range from $357K to 367K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
