This position uses knowledge of advanced technologies utilized for traffic signal operation, vehicle detection, and traffic signal interconnection to perform a variety of duties and independently coordinate between WisDOT underground utilities, Diggers Hotline, and contractors to prevent costly damage to WisDOT utilities. The position requires independent thinking to determine the appropriate level and urgency of response to traffic concerns.

This position also reviews and updates the Statewide Incident Notification System (SINS) web page for incidents in the SE Region. Upon review, this position determines the appropriate response based on knowledge of complex traffic signal technology including traffic detection methods, traffic patterns, and land use development in the SE Region then provides clear and concise detailed information to the appropriate work units and agencies.

In addition, this position independently administers the damage claims recovery program involving damage to state-owned property using a high degree of independent decision-making in determining charges.
