Under direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, the Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the District pupil transportation program, including supervising the work and training of school bus drivers/mechanics, and department clerk(s), including writing formal evaluations of the staff according to employee contract timelines, monitor daily duties in the transportation areas of the Greenfield Union School District.

Requirements / Qualifications

? High school graduation or equivalent; including or supplemented by coursework in typing/keyboarding, data entry, record management, and general office practices, (AA preferred). ? Valid TB test ? Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills ? Possess a current valid California Class B driver's license ? Possess a current valid California School Bus driver's certificate ? Possess a current valid California Medical certificate ? Possess a current valid California School Bus Trainer certificate ? Successful completion of pre-placement medical assessment* when selected for employment EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of five (5) years in the pupil transportation field • Experience at a supervisory or manager level preferred • Specialized training in emergency and disaster preparedness practices preferred.

TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR POSITION DUTIES • Approve daily bus schedules and assignment of activity trips • Directs, supervises, monitors and evaluates the work of assigned staff (e.g. Drivers). • Assists the Director of MOT with reports, budgets, and special studies as assigned. • Monitors drivers during early and late bus runs • Participate in site/parent driver conferences • Monitor and Evaluate transportation routing impacts to ensure efficiency of services • Directs coordination staff responsible for establishing bus routes and schedules; reviews routes and directs adjustments as necessary; • Ensure staff maintains updated trip list as outlined in the CBA; assigns cover drivers; assigns field trips, and Special Education routing needs • Plan and schedule monthly driver in-service programs • Coordinate annual staff return/safety in service • Report required mileage and smog certification • Involvement in local transportation safety council • Supervise and maintain bus maintenance inspection records • Maintain Motor Carrier and driver records • Manage Charter Bus scheduling and compliance certification • Supervise and initiate Alert Line / Fog Delay procedures • Monitors breakdowns and accidents to prevent interruption of service, and coordinates bus repairs between the drivers and the mechanic shop. • Assist in the management of the transportation site stormwater runoff regulations, sampling and testing. • Plan / Oversee annual site bus evacuation drills • Respond to parent/bus stop concerns and bus-related accidents. • Continue to develop and strengthen professional growth for the department • Assist in the coordination of District Disaster Preparedness Program and Site Safety Plan Reviews. • Assist in the planning and organizing of district disaster preparedness training • Assist site administrators with disaster preparedness planning, training and evacuation drills • Recommends purchase of District disaster preparedness supplies and equipment • Coordinate planning with outside utility and public safety agencies • Follows the established District model for employee evaluations and progressive discipline • Works as a District team member to establish goals, priorities, and expectations, and to develop the action plans and strategies for accomplishing them. • Approve Employee Overtime Rotation Lists • Perform substitute bus driving when necessary • On-call to respond to security calls after hours on a rotational basis • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation; Assistant Superintendent of Business; or the Superintendent • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the superintendent or designee, in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the district.
