Location: Mt. Sterling, IL Department: Dot Transportation Inc. (DTI) Reports To: DTI Director of Safety
Your Role: Responsible for safety-related driver training, developing and providing support to DTI safety initiatives, and supporting the development and maintenance of our safety culture.
Conducts recurrent training for accidents and injuries, including but not limited to MVA and regulatory required training
Assists in accident/injury investigations
Works as a resource for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
Provides driver commentary driving training
Conducts on-road observations
Serves as a member of the accident review committee
Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.
Travel Frequent travel; at least 2-3 nights per month to other company facilities or outside facilities for training and meetings. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
Schedule Ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night shift and on-call) based upon facility needs.
We Need You To Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent Dot experience
Minimum of two years of safety experience
Knowledge of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regulations
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft office programs
Ability to interact well with employees at all levels of the organization
We'd Like You To Have:
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Experience in providing group presentations
Ability to function in a multi-task environment
Strong analytical and organizational skills
