Position Overview
The Transportation Project Manager will be responsible managing strategic and tactical transportation projects and initiatives is support of Duluth's Big Dam Blueprint and transportation roadmap. This role includes accountability for projects involving all transportation modes and related carriers, including domestic and international inbound and outbound shipping, intercompany transfers, and retail store replenishment. Analyzes data, develops solutions, tactics, and strategies to optimize service to end consumers, retail stores and fulfillment centers, while improving transit times to consumers and stores while lowering relative cost metrics.

What You'll Do:
Manage key projects and initiatives across internal functions and with external partners as needed to optimize customer service (timely deliveries and improved transit times) and shipping expenses. Ensure timely and cost effective shipment and receipt of inbound container shipments and coordination/collaboration with internalstakeholders, vendors and freight forwarders and logistics service providers.
In conjunction with inventory planning, lead projects to yield significant reductions in split and out of region shipments as well as optimizing retail replenishment shipment cadence and costs.
Manage small parcel carrier relationships and collaborate with fulfillment centers and retail stores to optmize small parcel shipments to end consumers to meet customer delivery expectations at lowest costs. Proficient in shipping routing solutions (Shipium, Softeon) and will drive projects designed to improve peak season processes around carrier and zone routing adjustments and routing mode cut-offs around key holidays and marketing promotions.
Manage international and hazmat outbound shipment programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and end consumer delivery speed and cost expectations.
Collaborate with fulfillment center and inventory planning functions to optimize retail replenishment shipments in terms of timely and accurate deliveries, optimal use of carton utilization, and lowest shipping cost options.
In conjunction with analytical support colleague(s), synthesize daily and weekly data inputs to create KPI dashboards, and regular and ad hoc management reports and updates to internal colleagues, management peers, and company leadership.
What We're Looking For:
High School Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
Equivalent work experience will be considered. Bachelors degree and Hazardous Material Certified (UPS, FedEx or accredited agency)
Transportation, Logistics and fulfillment center operations
International shipping (Import and Export)
Hazardous material shipping
Small parcel carrier (UPS, FedEx) operations knowledge along with other transportation modes (LTL, TL,intermodal, drayage, etc.)
WMS and TMS systems solutions experience (Manhattan, Softeon, Elevate, Navisphere, etc.)
Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, JIRA, Incorta, Elevate
3+ years of experience years of experience.
1+ years of management experience managing activities inline with individual contributor level team.

Compensation Range: $60,000 - $85,000/year
Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
