Job Description:
NOTE: This position is for the 2024-2025 school year. The salary will be based on the 2024-2025 salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.High School diploma or equivalent
2.Ability to successfully complete or currently hold state inspector mechanic license
3.Ability to lift 50 pounds
4.Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work in confined spaces
5.Ability to obtain HVAC Automotive License
6.Must hold Class B CDL with P & S Endorsement or complete driver training program and obtain Class B CDL with P
and S Endorsement within 90-day probationary period
7.An acceptable driving performance record in the past 24 months with no preventable accidents in the past 24 months
8.Demonstrated proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
9.Ability to be self-motivated and work individually as well as a team
Ability to work with a diverse workforce
Strong communication skills both oral and written
Must be available after hours and weekends as needed for emergency's and responding to weather events
Such alternatives to the about qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.3 years' experience in mechanical field
2.Experience with RTA Fleet Maintenance Software
3.Mechanical experience with light & heavy-duty gasoline, propane and diesel equipment
4.Vocational training in the field of Automotive Technology and/or Maintenance
5.Familiar with REI Camera Systems and Synovia Software
REPORTS TO:
Director of Transportation & Head Mechanic
JOB GOALS: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible
advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Continually monitors vehicle maintenance standards, along with state, local and federal statutes/laws, to ensure
they meet all standards
2.Track and maintain vehicle maintenance records both electronic and paper as required
3.Continue professional development to keep current on new and changing technology and methods
4.Perform assigned preventative maintenance and repairs as directed by Director and/or Head Mechanic. The bulk
of the work will be replacing/repairing lights, blower motors, windows, emergency exit buzzers, seats, tires,
mirrors, battery and exhaust.
5.Paint/Repaint wheels and bumpers.
6.Cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles.
7.Maintain professional appearance
8.Maintain good rapport and attitude with a variety of staff
9.Assist with fueling and other daily and/or weekly maintenance checks
Make repairs to diverse technology installed on district vehicles and equipment
Document and maintain all maintenance records as required by State and Federal regulations and Board of
Education policies
Work as a substitute bus driver or para as needed to fulfill the needs of the District
All other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation and/or Head Mechanic
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month employee, 8 Hours per day, 40 Hours per Week - Salary and work year to be established by the Board

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified
personnel.
MIN & MAX STARTING SALARY: $19.95 - 22.93 PER HOUR
