Job Overview
Legacy Supply Chain is currently seeking a Transportation Operations Supervisor to support our client, GE Appliances. The Transportation Operations Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the daily performance of fleet operations including safety, compliance, driver leadership, equipment utilization, and fleet maintenance. This supervisor will serve as a link between daily operators and upper management and will work strategically with Legacy and GEA Leadership to implement next level processes and procedures throughout the business. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match.
Schedule and Compensation
8:00am to 4:00pm, Saturday and Sunday
6:00am to 6:00pm, and Monday
8:00am to 4:00pm
Job Details
What to expect as a Transportation Operations Supervisor:
Supports the daily performance of fleet operations including safety, compliance, driver leadership, equipment utilization, and fleet maintenance.
Manage driver performance and activity to ensure a safe work environment and zero service failures.
Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, and delivery locations.
Ensure compliance with D.O.T., OSHA, and all federal and state regulations, as well as company rules and policies
Create a positive work environment that is consistent with the Company's values and objectives.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
BS or BA degree preferred
Three years of increased responsibility within supply chain or transportation functions.
Experience managing local and regional Class A drivers.
In depth knowledge of key transportation processes and current best practices.
Experience supervising driver dispatch department preferred.
Ability to influence and persuade in order to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to effectively communicate, interact and convey business decisions at many different levels within the organization.
Experience and knowledge of DOT compliance.
Intermediate level in MS Office (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook, in particular)
