Salary Range: $100,000.00 to $110,000.00/Yearly

Purpose of Position

• To lead the office, a team of drivers and Transportation Operations in Central Pennsylvania.

• Oversee the entire PA Fleet Operations on a day to day basis and to achieve the daily metrics/KPIs in supporting the overall success of the department and company.

Position Competency

• An extensive knowledge of Fleet Dispatch, Driver Management, DOT Compliance

• A solid knowledge of all safety and regulatory requirements of operating a commercial trucking fleet

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with Customers so that they believe, that they are our most important customer

• Preferred to have a CDL A

• Preferred to have TMW Experience

Position Expectations

Safety and Compliance

• Thoroughly investigate all accidents and injuries and work with the Transportation Safety and Training Manager on root cause analysis.

• While training, educate and stress Allen Distribution's commitment towards both company and DOT Safety regulations and policies.

• Assist the Director of Transportation and Transportation Safety and Training manager on all Safety and Compliance objectives.

• Ensure initial accident and injury reports are completed accurately.

Dispatch Operations

• Daily review of the driver schedule for maximizing performance.

• Understand empty mile opportunities and work to reduce them.

• Able manage multiple tasks with high level of detail for extreme 100% accuracy.

• Fully understand dispatch to cover office positions when employees are off.

• Source backhauls through brokers as needed.

• Oversee the billing process from Transportation Dispatch side of the business.

• Participate in the RFP Process when asked to be involved.

• Drive loaded mile% and minimize out of route miles.

Management

• Sets clear goals and expectations for all direct reports

• Properly documents all performance issues and creates a Performance Improvement Plan when deemed appropriate

• Manage Driver Supplies

• Manage the Driver's PTO Requests

• Ensure Office Workload is balanced

• Drive KPI Performance set by the director

• Manage driver discipline

• Part of the Rotating On Call for the Office

Customer Service

• Maintain good working relationships with all vendors that support the business.

• Provide onsite customer service for all customers.

5.Recruiting and Training

• Directly responsible for hiring drivers in Allentown, Mechanicsburg and Carlisle.

• Schedule Driver Road Tests with the Safety and Training Manager.

• Responsible for training office staff on their responsibilities.

• Actively participate in Driver Orientation, Driver On Boarding and Driver Meetings.
