Asset Protection and Security Services is currently seeking qualified, licensed Transportation Officers to work at the El Paso Service Processing Center, a federally owned facility, in El Paso, TX. The Transportation Officer position will be under the supervision of the Program Manager working for the Prime Contractor and with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and will be responsible for secure transport and control of detainees.
Responsible for observation and secure control of detainees during transportation.
Ensuring detainees are properly prepared for and transported in accordance with PBNDS/ACA and Company standards.
Ensure, that any required detainee documentation is obtained from the transferring activity prior to departure.
Applying appropriate restraints prior to boarding vehicles.
Ensure all detainee transports are documented and detainee records and possessions are safeguarded at all times during transport; provide trip documentation and any trip route alterations to the Shift Supervisor.
Ensure compliance with Post Orders and hospital protocol as assigned.
Ensure maintenance and service records are in Vehicle Binder. Complete trip logs and vehicle inspection forms prior to and after each trip.
Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections with the Transport Supervisor. Ensure all required equipment for detention transport is present in vehicles; such items include first aid kit, accident investigation kit, proof of insurance, safety flares, restraint equipment, etc. Report any safety related transportation issues immediately.
Checking the condition of the vehicles safety equipment including horn, lights, wipers, flares, etc.
Checking condition of tires; oil and other fluid levels; brakes, wipers, etc.
Providing overall security and remaining with and guarding detainee(s) until given further instructions by the Transport Supervisor or Shift Captain or higher authority; performing fixed and/or rover/escort posts.
Responsible for maintaining Company provided credit card and cell phone, drivers license, medical certificate (if required) and weapons permits during operations.
Report all accidents, incidents, injuries related to transportation function to the shift supervisor.
Complete all Transportation metrics forms for each trip and provide to shift supervisor.
Providing security for those detainees hospitalized around the clock at local/various hospitals, clinics and other locations
U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident;
Not currently employed by federal agency/active duty military;
HS Graduate or GED;
21 years of age;
Capable of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules and regulations;
English literacy and ability to write reports in English;
Minimum 1 year experience as a security officer in functions related to detaining civil or administrative detainees.
Meet physical/health requirements for duties.
Current CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
Valid state guard license Level 2 or Level 3 (either unarmed or armed depending upon assignment) (Company can assist with this)
Valid state firearms license.
Required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb steps (on a bus).
Sitting for long periods of time while driving.
Must be able to crouch, kneel, or run periodically.
Must be able to grip, squeeze, and repetitively use fine hand movements.
Required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Required to occasionally lift 50+ lbs.
Must be physically capable of responding to emergency situations that could include fire, or physical altercations.
