Gannet Fleming is looking for a Transportation Noise Analyst to join our Noise, Vibration and Air Quality Group in the Raleigh, NC office. This is a hybrid role based onsite for three days per week, with two days remote.

The successful candidate will assist with highway and rail transportation noise, environmental noise, and industrial noise projects for a variety of clients. In addition to participation in sound level measurement programs, data collection, data analysis, and report preparation, the successful candidate will gain progressive experience within our environmental services business gaining exposure to different facets of environmental compliance work for state and federal projects.

Job duties:

  • The candidate will work on traffic noise analysis as it pertains to transportation planning projects.

  • Creating base drawings using survey information and CAD program(s).

  • Conducting noise measurement field work as part of the team.

  • Assisting with data gathering and development of project requirements.

  • Performing a variety of data analysis/processing functions, including analytical data quality reviews, data extraction/loading/transformation, and data organization and cleanup.

  • Completing tasks assigned by the project lead and under the supervision of a senior level scientist/planner.

  • Assisting with environmental analysis for multi-discipline design projects for a variety of markets (e.g., transportation, water, and facilities).

  • Assisting with coordination with other internal design disciplines, subconsultants, subcontractors, and regulatory and resource agencies.

  • Assisting with a wide range of public engagement activities and meetings

  • Developing project and presentation graphics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Computer Science or GIS-related field.

  • 1-3 years of related experience in environmental planning (e.g., NEPA).

  • A passion for working with teammates and customers to solve problems.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Dynamic, personable, and self-motivated personality with the ability to work as part of a distributed team as well as independently on assigned tasks.

Preferred:

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience.

  • MicroStation/CAD experience.

  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, 3D Analyst, ArcGIS Pro and/or Python.

  • TNM2.5 Training Certification.
