MAU is hiring a Transportation Manager/Wolf Pak DCM at our client, Cameron Ashley, in Middletown, PA. As a Transportation Manager/Wolf Pak DCM, you will oversee the efficient and cost-effective transportation and delivery of products. You will also be responsible for managing a team of dispatchers and drivers, ensuring on-time deliveries, optimizing routes, and maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
Required Education and Experience
5+ years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or related field
Proven experience in managing and motivating a team of dispatchers and drivers
General Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Proficient in transportation management software (TMS) and logistics applications
Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety procedures
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Requirements
Essential Functions
Plan, direct, and oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, including, scheduling, dispatching, and routing of deliveries
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of dispatchers and drivers, ensure they understand company policies and procedures
Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies to minimize delivery times and optimize fleet utilization
Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers
Track and monitor transportation costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction
Ensure all deliveries comply with safety regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines
Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and address any mechanical issues
Manage and maintain transportation-related documentation and records
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding deliveries
Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and warehouse, to ensure smooth order fulfillment
Manage, implement, and improve processes to ensure the business unit has a viable and well-maintained fleet, develop fleet replacement cycles, capital requirements, and priorities of asset re-deployment
Train appropriate individuals in load securement, vehicle safety procedures, defensive driving, pre- and post-checks, vehicle maintenance, and post-accident procedures
Interact with drivers daily, answer any questions and ensure drivers can safely operate and understand the operational procedures and are following applicable federal, state, and local laws
Provide oversight and assistance as it related to process development/improvement, inspections, and compliance, purchasing, tire programs, fleet repairs, maintenance diagnostics, and DOT compliance
Ensure drivers operate safely at all times
Perform other tasks as required
