TMS Technical Lead

SUMMARY
Technical Lead responsible for the technical solution architecture of the Cloud TMS solutions. Advise junior level employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide TMS implementation experience and technical direction for Business and IT teams during custom development life cycles for the TMS implementation project.
Work with the business teams to understand the core functional requirements and with the vendor to transform the core functional requirements into standard best practice solutions using modern web technologies.
Create and maintain internal UML, BPMN, and EPC technical documentation for the TMS implementation system workflows and processes using Visio and Enterprise Architect.
Provide system performance research, evaluation, and reporting for new and existing software deliverables using APM tools.
Conduct meetings to gather information for the successful completion of projects that will better meet user needs.
Assist users by analyzing complex problems and clarifying program objectives.
Create all necessary documentation for projects assigned.
Assist with the guidance and training of less experienced personnel.
Ensure quality by correcting a program's root cause and not the symptom.
Develop multiple solution options and select best alternative.
Must perform duties to the standards of the job description and comply with the company's policies, practices, and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for mentoring non-senior programmer/analysts in both the technical, as well as project management/business conduct.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor Degree
Minimum 5 years: Transportation industry experience
Minimum 5 years: TMS or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Technology related role
Self-motivated and results driven attitude
Hands on experience and understanding of the latest MercuryGate TMS functionality, Implementation, Configurations, sysconfigs, Dynamic Rule Sets, and Custom Rule Sets.
Hands on experience with underlying web technology used for the SaaS based applications such as Java .Net, HTML, JavaScript, React, Angular, AJAX, and SQL programming languages.
Understanding of common TMS and ERP system interface architecture using middleware layer, web services, and APIs including JSON, WSDL, XML, EDI, CSV, and others.
Independent worker with a desire to produce a quality product and be committed to the quality improvement process.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Excellent comprehension of technical information, configurations, and requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Visio
Best practice and organization standards experience (SOX/COSO/COBIT/ISO)
Ability to influence and convince others.
Excellent problem solving skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer or information science, preferred; or 4+ years in programming experience; or some combination thereof.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The LMS Technology Specialist also assists Availity Learning with gathering information for learning deliverables, updating and creating deliverables, handling webinar administration, and coordinating and/or delivering learning events, as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Obtain and maintain a deep understanding of all components, features, and functions of the LMS. * Serve as subject matter expert for the LMS and provide ongoing user support including research, resolution, and escalation of LMS issues. * Maintain the integrity of the data in the LMS. * Identify roles and responsibilities within the LMS and determine appropriate permissions for various users and audiences. * Design and generate standard and customized reports for the LMS. * Interface with LMS vendor(s) on special projects and technical integrations with other systems. * Make recommendations on future improvements to content management, workflow processes, and user experience. * Manage learning content for key stakeholders, including external entities. * Collaborate with subject matter experts and trainers to gather information for learning deliverables. * Update, create, test, and implement learning deliverables in the LMS, as needed. * Coordinate learning events and manage webinar administration; such as setting up webinars in WebEx, providing attendance reports, creating monthly webinar schedules for different departments, etc. * Coordinate with Marketing and Communications department on promotion of learning deliverables. * Oversee vendor management for online learning content. * Other assistance and tasks, as needed.
