TMS Technical Lead

SUMMARY
Technical Lead responsible for the technical solution architecture of the Cloud TMS solutions. Advise junior level employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide TMS implementation experience and technical direction for Business and IT teams during custom development life cycles for the TMS implementation project.
Work with the business teams to understand the core functional requirements and with the vendor to transform the core functional requirements into standard best practice solutions using modern web technologies.
Create and maintain internal UML, BPMN, and EPC technical documentation for the TMS implementation system workflows and processes using Visio and Enterprise Architect.
Provide system performance research, evaluation, and reporting for new and existing software deliverables using APM tools.
Conduct meetings to gather information for the successful completion of projects that will better meet user needs.
Assist users by analyzing complex problems and clarifying program objectives.
Create all necessary documentation for projects assigned.
Assist with the guidance and training of less experienced personnel.
Ensure quality by correcting a program's root cause and not the symptom.
Develop multiple solution options and select best alternative.
Must perform duties to the standards of the job description and comply with the company's policies, practices, and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for mentoring non-senior programmer/analysts in both the technical, as well as project management/business conduct.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor Degree
Minimum 5 years: Transportation industry experience
Minimum 5 years: TMS or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Technology related role
Self-motivated and results driven attitude
Hands on experience and understanding of the latest MercuryGate TMS functionality, Implementation, Configurations, sysconfigs, Dynamic Rule Sets, and Custom Rule Sets.
Hands on experience with underlying web technology used for the SaaS based applications such as Java .Net, HTML, JavaScript, React, Angular, AJAX, and SQL programming languages.
Understanding of common TMS and ERP system interface architecture using middleware layer, web services, and APIs including JSON, WSDL, XML, EDI, CSV, and others.
Independent worker with a desire to produce a quality product and be committed to the quality improvement process.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Excellent comprehension of technical information, configurations, and requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Visio
Best practice and organization standards experience (SOX/COSO/COBIT/ISO)
Ability to influence and convince others.
Excellent problem solving skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer or information science, preferred; or 4+ years in programming experience; or some combination thereof.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Requires constant mental and visual attention relative to the safe operation of the vehicle. • Demonstrates knowledge of, DOT, OSHA, HIPAA, and NAID. • Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications to include spreadsheets and word processing. • Demonstrates knowledge of inventory management and routing and re-routing. We are seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee the transportation department of one or more locations within assigned geography; providing leadership within the location(s) as assigned. Acts as the liaison between customer, operations, CSRs, and the support team. Duties include, but are not limited to: • Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are maintained at all times. • Manage route scheduling to ensure all scheduled customers will be serviced by end of day. Redirect manpower and resources as required, in order to service customers on routes that may have operational difficulties (i.e., vehicle breakdown, vehicle accident, or completely full truck). • Manage driver debrief process for every route. Ensure there is documentation (manifest, PDT receipt, etc) for every customer transaction. Update route comments as required. • Maintain a high standard of customer service as measured by key metrics (on-time, no missed stops, loyalty, etc). • Manage open order report to resolve service issues. • Manage the SAP cancellation process for customers cancelling contracts before the stated CSA end date. • Develop relationships with customers and establish contacts that are comfortable providing accurate service feedback. • Conduct customer visits to review service. • Manage customer interaction records to resolve service issues. • Monitor operations and staff and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources. • Monitor department work productivity, reports on trends, and recommends and implements changes to continually improve work productivity. • Review payroll hours to ensure overtime hours are necessary and all employees are working efficiently. • Manage route vehicles, containers, load bars and straps, hand-trucks, PDT's and printers, and all other company equipment and assets. • Monitor routes to improve route efficiency.
