Position: Transportation Import-Export Manager

  • Job Description:
    * The Transportation Import/Export Manager will partner with distribution facilities across North America and collaborate with internal organizations to facilitate the import/export processes and programs for the USA. This role is a member of the Management team for North America Transportation and Trade Operations.

  • What You Will Be Doing:*

  • Manage the movement of products in and out of the United States in accordance with company policy and procedure, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations

  • Manage the activities of carriers and brokers with regards to import/export processes and execution

  • Analyze and recommend import/export process and cost improvements as well as appropriate brokers and carriers to be used. Assist with negotiating carrier and broker programs

  • Ensure the effective use of systems and tools to support import/export processes including ERPs and warehouse and transportation management systems; ensure outputs produce adherence to regulations and company processes

  • Initiate system recommendations and support documentation to promote import/export process enhancements

  • Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities, including record keeping

  • Manage export filing processes, systemic and manual

  • Manage import visibility, classification, valuation and duty/tax payment

  • Manage training programs with distribution facilities to ensure process adherence and compliance to established procedures

  • Partner with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and processes

  • Monitor, record, analyze and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations related to import/export activities

  • Investigate, plan and implement strategically effective and relevant trade operations methods and best practices, which meet the needs of the organization

  • Resolve Import/Export issues and customs problems on an as needed basis

  • Manage and develop a team of four direct reports

  • What We Are Looking For:*

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent work experience

  • 5 to 7 years related experience

  • Experience working with small parcel, ocean, air freight, LTL shipments and carriers

  • Experience working with Freight Forwarders and customs brokers on a regional and global scale

  • Ability to retrieve, manipulate and present data

  • Strong project management and multitasking skills with adherence to deadlines

  • Ability to recognize opportunities and communicate to direct leadership

  • Ability to work well both independently and in a cross functional team environment

  • Medium level PowerPoint, and Excel skills

  • Experience working with a TMS, WMS and other Supply Chain systems

  • Experience in import and export rules and regulations

  • Customs Broker license preferred

  • Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:*

$94,050.00 - $114,950.00Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.

Job Overview/Summary The Export Category Manager is the main liaison between Clorox's Export customers, sales teams, and PSO function. Key Responsibilities * The Export Category Manager is the main liaison between Clorox's Export customers, sales teams, and PSO function. The Analyst is responsible for understanding customers (s) requirements and ensuring that those requirements are met. The analyst plays a critical facilitation role in the execution of supply chain activities by working with Sales to understand needs, ensuring item setup, tracking event execution, and resolving supply chain relate issues. * Partner with key Product Supply functions to facilitate the export order process ensuring timely supply of goods from U.S. manufacturing plant(s) and distribution centers. * Responsibilities include knowledge of SAP and exporting requirements (Incoterms, Export documentation, Certificate of Analysis etc. * Partnering with demand and supply to ensure product availability * Partnering with Supply Chain lead and business to execute product transitions, new customer set up, pricing actions and other improvements * Serving as escalation point for reoccurring supply chain concerns * Accountable for ensuring compliance with Domestic, International, and Company requirements. * Maintains knowledge of domestic regulations as it relates to Hazardous shipments and ensures adherence to Federal regulations for domestic transportation * Prepare and verify export documentation for compliance with all U.S. and international government regulations * Partner with Global Trade Compliance (GTC) for any regulatory documentation and adherence * Responsible for continuous improvement of export fulfillment processes, aligning with International rules and regulations. * Determine appropriate product allocation and sourcing for exports based on inventory policies and fulfillment requirements * Work with key PSO functions to develop strategies to improve supply chain costs for Clorox and the customer. * Supervise supply chain performance for export customer(s); conduct regular internal and external review meetings; develop action plans as appropriate by managing and * Manage team of up to 5 Export Order Management Specialist * Liaison between Planning organization and Clorox Sales to ensure product availability for new customer set ups, allocation, and key international customer initiatives * Manage sample order process for new customers * Develop strategies for new item transitions, product sourcing within Clorox network * Responsible for the integration of the International VMS business into the Clorox legacy order management org structure Key Skills, Abilities, Experience and Education Required Minimum Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. * 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Export Logistics * 2 years of Leadership experience * 2 years of experience in ERP software (SAP) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Visio) * Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
