Position Overview:
At the Transportation Human Resources Business Partner, you are responsible for all human resource functions in alignment with the overall business strategy as well as within transportation. You are responsible for ensuring that the human resource practices support the specific needs and goals of the transportation department.
Responsibilities:
Collaborating with department leaders to understanding current staffing and hiring needs
Developing strategies to retain talent within the transportation department
Conducting interviews and assessing candidates for roles within the transportation department in conjunction with hiring managers & Talent Acquisition
Leading all Talent, Engagement and last mile HRBP deliverables to drive performance of the business
Addressing employee relations issues such as safety concerns, compliance issues, unique environment challenges
Fostering positive relationships between management and employees to enhance overall morale and performance
Staying up to date on relevant labor laws, DOT compliance at local, state and federal level
Ensuring that HR practices align with the regulatory standards to mitigate legal risks
Identifying training needs for employees in transportation roles, including but not limited to - safety, compliance and skills development
Working with training team to design and implement programs to enhance the capabilities of the transportation staff
Providing feedback to managers and employees regarding performance expectations, goals and career development
Developing and promoting wellness programs to ensure holistic approach to safety and well being
Analyzing workforce trends to anticipate future needs in the transportation department
Developing workforce planning strategies to ensure a skilled and adaptable workforce
Collaborating with additional HR partners to share best practices and ensuring consistency in HR policies and procedures
Experience:
3+ years experience supporting a logistics operation
Knowledge of DOT regulations preferred
